Top Companies
Below is the list of top companies for summer internships that you can join as an intern in the UAE for 2026. They are listed by city so they can be more easily found.
Abu Dhabi
The internships in Abu Dhabi tend to be in the energy, AI, and investment sectors in the summer. ADNOC will provide placements to University students who have studied for at least 2 years and have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher. During the summer of 2013, Masdar offered an internship in the field of sustainability and risk. MBZUAI hosts a fully funded research internship in AI for students for four weeks. UAE National students can get summer training from EGA, and ADIC has summer work experience on their careers page.
Dubai
One of the most popular summer internships in Dubai Programme. For 2026, it had a list of partners that comprised KHDA, Expo City Dubai, Dubai Airports and Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre. Other parties were represented by Dubai Port World (DP World), Dubai Municipality, Dubai Chambers, as well as the Emirates Group. Certain positions were reserved for Emiratis only, and certain jobs were open to Emiratis.
Professional services
This year EY hosted a Summer Programme in Dubai. This type of large business is looking for a strong work ethic and good grades. Plan as it is a competitive activity.
Permit Rules
The necessary permit is needed for all interns. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) issues a Training and Work Permit for students. Do not apply for it; it's the responsibility of your employer. A tourist visa is not a substitute for a work permit.
DO NOT expect these documents to be shared:
- School/College registration documents. Student identification documents.
- A valid UAE residence visa (for non-national students)
- The school/universities should issue a no-objection letter.
- At the time of entering into a contract with the employer.
Additionally, a student must have written guardian consent to enroll in a class if he or she is between the ages of 15 and 17. Please visit the MoHRE website for updates on the regulations.

Tips to get selected:
One of the first lessons to learn from the Summer Internship UAE 2026 calendar is the importance of timing. Excellent candidates plan. Good candidates plan in advance for months. Here are some tips to help you stay ahead.
- Apply early. There are lots of January openings.
- Keep your CV to one page. Use projects and skills to lead.
- Write a short cover letter. List the company and the position.
- Build a portfolio. Present real work - even for small projects.
- Practise your interview. Create short stories on teamwork.
- Check eligibility first. Rules: Year, GPA, nationality.
If you're a school student, check if there are opportunities for younger students. The Emirates Group and EGA are good places to start. Be sure to check the official rules that are in force at the time.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Students lose big opportunities due to small mistakes. Avoid these:
- Putting off starting a CV until springtime
- Avoiding Year/GPA/Nationality Restrictions
- The work is not in compliance with the permit. Work is commenced prior to the permit being issued.
- Spending more time tailoring your cover letter to the specific company will make the process more efficient.
- Failure to follow up message after application
